A Morning Vision

by Stephen Leigh

/

about

One day I woke with sunlight streaming through our bedroom window. I looked over to see Denise caught in light. She seemed to feel my gaze and stirred. When her eyes opened, I could see myself reflected in her eyes...

That was the genesis of this song.

lyrics

A Morning Vision - Stephen Leigh

Watching you
The morning is soft on your face
Fingers of gold-green light
Caress the hidden landscape
Of your body

Looking at you, I see in the
Curved mirror of your gaze
My own face
As you smile

You rise with a breath
To meet the hand of the sun
Your head turns to me
Waking under the sun’s warm touch
Your eyes find mine
And you smile

Looking at you
I see in the curved mirror of your gaze
My own face
As you smile

(SOLO)

The trees outside have snared
all the clouds’ shadows
Like the clouds, like the wind
Your breath takes this moment in and
Sends it away again

Looking at you
I see in the curved mirror of your gaze
My own face
As you smile

My own face
As you smile
